Psoriatic Arthritis: Hands
This radiograph shows fusiform soft-tissue swelling in both middle fingers. Marked destructive changes, including osteolysis of many of the distal and proximal interphalangeal joints, correlate with the clinical finding of telescoping. The severe distal interphalangeal joint involvement including the pencil-in-cup deformity, is characteristic of psoriatic arthritis. There are also erosions of both third metacarpophalangeal joints and narrowing of most proximal interphalangeal and several metacarpophalangeal joints.
