Dermatomyositis:
Cracking (and hyperkeratosis) of the finger pad skin, commonly involving the first, second, and third fingers, is demonstrated in this patient with dermatomyositis. Note the finding of "mechanic hands" are associated with anti Jo-1 autoantiboldies which alerts the clinican to interstitial lung disease. Miller FW.
