Rheumatoid Arthritis: Elbow, Effusion and Erosion
Images 03-05-0076 - 03-05-0080 demonstrate radiographic evidence of synovitis and joint erosion in a patient with rheumatoid arthritis. The lateral radiograph of the elbow shows elevation of the posterior fat pad indicating joint distension. There is erosion of the posterior olecranon with some new bone formation. The latter is unusual in rheumatoid arthritis.
